Based in Toronto, Yorkville Partners is a private investment firm focused on technology and e-commerce companies across North America.
The firm is entrepreneurial in nature, allowing interns to gain exposure to all aspects of investing and business operations. Rather than working solely on research projects, interns work directly with management teams on initiatives related to strategy, growth, operations, technology, sales, and marketing.
This role offers valuable experience that is directly transferable to careers in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, consulting, technology, and entrepreneurship.

ResponsibilitiesInvestment and research activities
- Conduct market, industry, and competitive research.
- Source and qualify investment opportunities.
- Build and maintain deal flow databases and prospect pipelines.
- Analyze businesses, markets, and competitive landscapes.
- Assist with financial analysis, valuation work, and investment memorandums.
- Prepare presentations and reports for management.
- Draft outreach emails and correspondence with founders and business owners.
- Track and improve sourcing processes and key performance indicators.
Operations and portfolio support
- Support strategic initiatives across portfolio companies.
- Conduct customer, competitor, and market research.
- Assist with sales, marketing,
and business development initiatives.
- Manage and maintain CRM systems and reporting dashboards.
- Analyze operational data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Research and implement artificial intelligence tools and workflow automations.
- Support special projects related to growth initiatives, acquisitions, partnerships, and expansion opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in business, economics, finance, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and research abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a rapid-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, and artificial intelligence tools.
- A demonstrated interest in technology, investing, entrepreneurship, and e-commerce businesses.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be considered an asset:
- Investment banking
- Private equity or venture capital
