Serve as the primary functional lead and business representative for the Water & Wastewater IBM Maximo platformProvide functional leadership and governance over divisional work management, asset management, maintenance planning, and asset information processesOwn divisional requirements, enhancement requests, and system improvement roadmapsEstablish business rules, standards, and governance practices for work management, asset information, and Maximo utilizationEvaluate business needs, operational challenges, and emerging requirements and develop recommendationsParticipate in process reviews, workshops, and requirements gathering with operational, engineering, maintenance, and corporate stakeholdersTranslate operational requirements into functional specifications and business requirementsEvaluate solution alternatives and recommend approaches that maximize business value while minimizing complexity, risk, and sustainment impactsParticipate in governance and design reviews to align solutions with business objectives and requirementsReview and validate Maximo configurations, workflows, and functional designsAssess vendor recommendations for alignment with approved processes, standards, and operational requirementsCoordinate divisional participation in design, configuration, testing, training, deployment, and sustainmentLead User Acceptance Testing activities and recommend solution readiness, business acceptance, and production deploymentSupport implementation planning, organizational readiness, change management, and user adoptionLead asset data governance initiatives, including data standards, quality requirements, naming conventions, classification standards, and business rulesImprove reporting, analytics, performance measurement, and decision-support capabilities with divisional and corporate stakeholdersMonitor system utilization, business adoption, process performance, and user feedbackSupport divisional Maximo roadmaps, continuous improvement initiatives, and future technology enhancementsPrepare and present recommendations, briefing materials, business cases, reports,
and presentations for management and governance committeesProvide coaching, mentorship, and knowledge transfer on work management processes, asset information standards, and Maximo best practicesReport to the Manager, Asset Management and Strategic Asset Planning and work closely with the Water & Wastewater Maximo ExpertRequirements
A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted)University degree or college diploma in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Asset Management, Information Technology, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related disciplineMinimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience supporting Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), asset management programs, operational technology solutions, or related business improvement initiativesExperience supporting system implementation, upgrade, or business transformation initiativesExperience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional solutionsExperience working directly with operational stakeholders and technical teamsExperience supporting organizational change and user adoption initiativesExperience within municipal infrastructure, regulated utility environments, Water & Wastewater operations, transportation, energy, or other asset-intensive industries is considered an assetExperience with IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) or IBM Maximo Asset Management is highly desirableProfessional certifications such as CAMP, PMP, CBAP, Prosci, P.Eng.,
or equivalent are considered assetsAbility to convey complex ideas and concepts through extensive and tactful discussions and negotiations with technical and non-technical audiencesAdvanced verbal communication skills to act as a project lead and facilitate discussions with stakeholders and managementStrong presentation and facilitation skills, including presenting to Regional Council and external groupsDemonstrated ability to lead high-impact initiatives and manage changeAdvanced systems thinking, conceptual and creative problem-solving abilitiesAbility to analyze, synthesize, and clarify complex ideas and material into explicit plain languageStrong analytical skills for trend and gap analysis and issue identificationStrong time management and organizational skills to oversee multiple complex projects concurrentlyAdaptability in an environment with changing priorities, short timelines, and limited resourcesCommitment to diversity, equity, and inclusionOff-site work location must be within the province of OntarioCore Competencies
