Accommodations are available during the hiring process, upon request.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and assess critical linear sanitary infrastructure.Develop and manage priority critical linear sanitary infrastructure projects upgrade program.Plan and manage linear infrastructure (sanitary and reclaimed water) projects during scoping, conceptual design and feasibility analysis.Conduct field investigations, modeling analysis, options analysis (including constructability), life cycle cost analysis, risk assessments, project cost estimates, and engagement with interested parties (including land‑related).Prepare project handover documents from planning to delivery.Review and preparation of technical documentation including reports and drawings.Build and foster networks and relationships with internal and external technical experts and operations staff, to influence positive outcomes.Provide technical mentoring and training to junior staff.QualificationsA degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of relevant skilled engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. designation and a current licensure as a Skilled Engineer with the Association of Skilled Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practising status OR licensure and practising status by the first day of work.Experience in project management, including managing consultants and familiarity with project reporting and procurement processes, as well as business and financial management experience, are essential.Experience with assessment and design of linear sanitary infrastructure is essential.Experience working with municipal, provincial,



and federal legislations related to the water utility, as well as experience with operations, mobility, planning, and construction management would be considered assets.Familiarity with ArcGIS software and hydraulic modelling of sanitary systems would be considered an asset.Success in this role requires system thinking, analytical thinking, decision‑making, problem‑solving, organisation and time management skills, along with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively on technical, operational, and business issues with different groups and individuals.Working ConditionsOffice environment with field visits and site inspections as required.Pre‑employment RequirementsSuccessful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.WorkstyleThis position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees.
