Mechanic role offers the opportunity to be responsible for providing service and maintenance support to the underground fleet of mobile equipment at Red Lake Operations. The roster will be 14 days on and 14 days off (12 hours). Whilst residential is preferred, the role is also open to FIFO and DIDO, with access to our camp accommodation. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $106,000 to $140,000 CAD.Key Result AreasInspection of equipment and timely elimination of defectsTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair U/G mining equipment in a safe, effective mannerCreate a running list of other items to repair when the machine goes down for scheduled PM’sGet trained and certified to operate all equipment in the specific cellAlign yourself with crews to meet or exceed all safe production goals and objectives relative to the budgetCorrect hazards and report safety concerns to SupervisorProvide guidance and instruction of operator care program (Wash, pre‑op & reporting, lube)Ensure all equipment safety features are in good working orderCreate work orders for all work; communicate open defects for planning and scheduling at PMComply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirementsAdhere to all corporate policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assignedAbout youAs an HD Mechanic, you will either have a post‑secondary institution in a mechanical program, or acquired qualifications of the trade by progressively advancing through an apprenticeship program in order to become certified. Alternately,
you will have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma with a valid Heavy‑duty Mechanic Interprovincial Certificate and previous experience. It is also important that you can demonstrate the following:At least 3‑5 years of mining experience, including underground and working with mobile equipmentStrong mechanical aptitudeDemonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and languageFamiliarity with Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining PlantsExcellent organizational and time‑management skills, including ability to adhere to deadlinesEffective troubleshooting techniquesStrong attention to detailGood verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with othersKnowledge of computerized systemsAble to adapt to changePossesses strong work ethicAble to work independently with minimal supervisionWorks well in a fast‑paced, dynamic environmentCooperative, flexible team playerWe are an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse workforce that represents the communities in which we operate.
