Production Artist – Loblaw Companies LimitedThe Production Artist will collaborate with internal designers, retouchers, editorial, regulatory, product, and brand teams to produce prepress‑ready production art files following brand guidelines and supporting both retail and control brands’ initiatives.AccountabilitiesPrepare artwork for approvals, ensuring the proper use of print specifications, dielines, project listing information, design, final copy, and brand standards.Ensure artwork meets specifications from the print vendor and is compatible with the specific printing process in use for each project.Address all comments and concerns from suppliers and other internal departments to complete final artwork.Collaborate with Designers, Re‑touchers, Editorial and Proofreaders, and Product teams as required to achieve project objectives.Review and follow up to resolve missing information from print specifications, dielines, and project listing information; clarify where information is missing or questionable.Work within the Loblaw workflow, ensuring necessary tasks are completed at the correct interval and completed properly to maintain workflow integrity.Interact with Loblaw databases and systems for retrieving and updating artwork information,
including the digital file system.Keep up to date with current developments in software and hardware technologies as applicable to the role.Assist in the training and orientation of current Production Artists as required.Role RequirementsDegree or diploma from a recognized post‑secondary institution or relevant related experience.1–2 years’ experience producing artwork, preferably for retail consumer package goods.Ability to create production‑ready final artwork files for various printing processes.Strong attention to detail and an eye for visual balance and design aesthetics.Ability to independently layout secondary panel information, preparation instructions, recipes, ingredients, nutrition panels, etc., to brand standards provided.Must be a team player and have the ability to juggle multiple priorities.Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and balance conflicting tasks.Working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.CompensationHourly rate: $25 per hour (contractor).
