This position is ideal for an experienced risk professional ready to operate at the institutional level, influencing outcomes through expertise, collaboration, and trust.About the RoleThe Manager, Enterprise Risk Management leads the coordination, integration, and continuous improvement of the University’s risk management program. Working closely with academic and operational leaders, this role ensures that key risks are identified, assessed, and managed in alignment with institutional priorities, enabling informed decision‑making and organizational resilience. The role supports the University’s culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strategic agility by translating complex risk information into clear, actionable insight.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery and ongoing enhancement of the University’s enterprise risk management framework,
aligned with strategic objectives.Partner with senior leaders and risk owners to identify, assess, and manage key strategic and operational risks, including maintaining the University’s strategic risk register.Provide high‑quality risk analysis, insight, and assurance to senior leaders and governance committees.Support risk‑informed decision‑making by assessing the risk impacts of strategic and operational change initiatives.Build risk management capability across the University by providing advice, tools, templates, and guidance that embed effective risk practices into day‑to‑day operations.Undertake horizon scanning and environmental analysis to identify emerging risks affecting the University’s risk profile.Support the escalation and management of critical issues or material incidents with potential institutional impact.Collaborate with Internal Audit to support risk‑based audit planning and shared understanding of the University’s risk environment.Prepare clear, well‑reasoned reports and briefing materials.Why This Role MattersThis role directly supports the University’s ability to anticipate uncertainty, respond to change, and achieve its strategic goals. the salary range currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project.SalaryStarting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE): $87,035.58 - $109,490.73 annuallyFull Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE): $87,035.58 - $131,945.88 annually (APO - Grade 5)Position QualificationsA university degree in risk management, business administration, public administration, or a related discipline is required, along with a recognized professional risk management designation or credential (e.G., CRM, CRM -E, RIMS - CRMP or equivalent). An equivalent combination of education, professional certification, and progressively responsible experience in enterprise risk management, audit, or governance will be considered. Experience working within or with the post‑secondary or public sector is an asset. The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
