The role requires extensive consultation with radiologists/nuclear physicians and referring physicians (i.E. emergency and clinical nurse specialist)



using a teamwork approach to enhance imaging services.AccountabilitiesPrescribe appropriate protocols within the approved delegated act proceduresProtocolling CT referrals within the approved delegated act using orders sets for CTPlays a pivotal role in the provision of appropriate patient preparation for requested imaging examsUsing clinical expertise, leadership and understanding of the organization, medical directives and decision‑making to improve access and quality of careProvide professional guidance to other health care professionals and participate as a member of the interdisciplinary teams both inside the Diagnostic Imaging Department as well as with the inpatient programs who utilize diagnostic imaging services for their patientsCollaborates with patients, health care professionals and physiciansImprove productivity, increase patient access to radiologic services and enhance overall quality of patient care in diagnostic imagingEnsure effective and efficient patient flow and care; including but notinclusive are triaging a medical imaging pathway for Emergency Department patients and inpatientsPreliminary liaison (first point of contact)
