The role involves completing data science projects related to mining rock mechanics and geoscience, including data processing, analysis, and machine learning model implementation across the mining lifecycle. You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-value solutions to clients.ResponsibilitiesApply data science techniques to geoscience data related to mining projects.Develop and implement machine learning models for various projects.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions.Participate in field investigations as needed.Minimum RequirementsPostgraduate degree in a field involving advanced statistical analysis and/or machine learning applied to geoscience.Experience in the mining/metals industry.Registration as an Engineer or Geologist in Training (EIT/GIT)



with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).Solid programming skills in Python, R, Julia, and familiarity with frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.Solid theoretical background with practical problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to participate in field investigations.Preferred Additional SkillsExperience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.Proficiency with geospatial tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) and 3D modeling software (Leapfrog).Experience in rock mechanics, soil mechanics, structural geology, or geostatistics.Data integration experience in geoscience, geophysics, or geochemistry.Previous consulting experience.Compensation and BenefitsThe estimated base salary range is $70,000 to $120,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
