OverviewReporting to the VP of National Property and Casualty, the Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter will manage a profitable portfolio and lead underwriting strategy across Canada.ResponsibilitiesUnderwrite new business and renewals in a profitable manner, following established guidelines and authority levels.Create and grow a profitable book of business, using underwriting tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.Partner with specialty line underwriters to leverage multi‑line opportunities.Build and strengthen broker relationships through underwriting meetings, broker events, and industry conferences.Adhere to company underwriting guidelines and draft comprehensive referrals as required.Mentor junior team members on technical underwriting matters.Stay abreast of market intelligence and industry trends.Lead and/or contribute to special projects that impact the business.Qualifications5+ years of property and casualty underwriting experience.Experience underwriting large multinational corporations with a strong background in Property,
Primary and Excess Casualty Lines.Background in Manufacturing and/or Construction is an asset.Ability to develop and maintain broker relationships; proven track record of generating new business premium.Education: University degree.
