Job Title: Civil Construction Labourer

Location: Windsor, ON

Pay: $20-23 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities

Site preparation

- Clearing and leveling the construction site
- Digging trenches, holes, and foundations
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment
- Erecting scaffolding and temporary structures

Construction and maintenance

- Mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete and other materials
- Operating heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and cranes
- Using hand and power tools to cut and shape materials
- Installing and repairing drainage systems, sewer lines, and water mains
- Assisting skilled tradespeople such as carpenters and masons

Safety and compliance

- Following safety procedures and regulations
- Wearing personal protective equipment
- Identifying and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions
- Ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Training

- High school diploma or equivalent
- On-the-job training is often provided by the employer

Physical Demands





- Must be able to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions

Experience

- Experience in construction or a related field is an asset
- Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset

Working Conditions

Work Schedule

- Civil construction labourers typically work full-time, with some overtime and weekend work required
