Our client, a leading food processing manufacturer, is seeking a hands‑on Night Shift Maintenance Mechanic to support plant operations through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs. This role is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional who enjoys diagnosing issues, minimizing downtime, and ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently.Working within a fast‑paced food manufacturing workplace, you will be responsible for maintaining production, packaging, refrigeration, and facility equipment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance.Night Shift Maintenance Mechanic Details$30.00–$36.00 per hour + $2.00/hour shift premium * (Range will be based on experience, certifications, and qualifications)Sunday night to Friday morning, 10:30 PM – 7:30 AM *Overtime available as required15 days annually (6% vacation pay)Full employer‑paid benefits upon hireCompany RRSP ProgramHealth Care Spending Account and Tuition Reimbursement Program$1,500 Signing Bonus *Night Shift Maintenance Mechanic ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, and production equipmentPerform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and facility equipmentRepair and maintain motors, conveyors, pumps, valves, controls, refrigeration systems, and packaging equipmentMonitor and maintain refrigeration systems in accordance with TSSA standardsSupport equipment installations, upgrades,
and continuous improvement projectsComplete maintenance work orders accurately and on timeMinimize equipment downtime through proactive maintenance and communication with production teamsMaintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment recordsCoordinate with contractors, inspectors, and internal departments to ensure compliance requirements are metFollow all workplace safety procedures, GMP, HACCP/SQF, and company quality standardsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentNight Shift Maintenance Mechanic QualificationsMinimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentPrevious experience in a food processing, food manufacturing, or packaging facilityStrong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skillsExperience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systemsMillwright License, Industrial Maintenance Certification, or equivalent maintenance experience is considered a strong assetElectrical troubleshooting experience is considered an assetRefrigeration Operator B Certification (TSSA) is considered an assetExperience working within CFIA or OMAFA regulated facilities and familiarity with HACCP, SQF, and GMP standards is preferredWorking knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water treatment, packaging, and processing systems is an assetStrong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize workloadComfortable working in refrigerated food manufacturing environments, including exposure to raw poultry productsStrong communication and teamwork skillsReliable attendance, flexibility for overtime, and willingness to support occasional weekend maintenance activitiesAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in EnglishPhysically capable of performing maintenance duties in an active manufacturing environment#J-18808-Ljbffr
