Our highly respected and successful Environmental Permitting and Management team has an ever‑growing portfolio of work built on technical excellence and exceptional service to our clients, with a particular need for support on our power and renewables projects. As a result, we are seeking a like‑minded individual with at least 7 years of relevant experience to join our growing team in British Columbia.Our work includes delivering keystone projects throughout their lifecycle: from early assessment of constraints to strategic development of regulatory approvals processes, to compliance management through construction and operations. As part of the wider Environment division, you’ll be at the heart of the business with the opportunity to work alongside a variety of environmental and engineering professionals across BC, wider Canada,
and our global regions.This role is intermediate and can be based out of our Vancouver or Burnaby offices in the Lower Mainland, or our Victoria and Nanaimo offices on Vancouver Island. Other office locations across BC will be considered.ResponsibilitiesAct as the project‑level environmental representative for clients.Ensure environmental and social risks are fully incorporated into projects.Prepare scope, budgets, schedules, change management and deliverables according to contract terms.Coordinate and manage subconsultants and subcontractors.Coordinate or prepare environmental permit applications.Prepare or coordinate technical reports associated with regulatory approvals or compliance requirements (e.G., Environmental Screening Reports, Environmental Overview Assessments, Environmental Management Plans, Habitat Assessments, Construction Monitoring Reports, Post‑Construction Reports, Permit applications).Support environmental compliance and management system auditing programs.Ensure quality of work, including work plans, field programs, data collection and analysis, mapping, technical reports and management plans, environmental monitoring.Provide guidance to less experienced staff to complete quality and timely deliverables or tasks.Manage relationships on behalf of clients with project stakeholders, partners, agencies and Indigenous groups.Occasional field work.QualificationsA university degree or college diploma in environmental science or related studies.
Graduate level training is an asset.At least 7 years of experience with a focus in environmental management, preferably within an environmental consultancy.Thorough knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, regulatory permits and approvals, bylaws, and environmental best management practices.Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize workload to manage multiple assignments at one time.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and an aptitude for client liaison.Ability to work independently and succeed in a cooperative, multi‑disciplinary team setting.Professional accreditation or eligibility is considered an asset (e.G., R.P. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters such as skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role.
