With the extensive, wide-ranging expertise within our company, you'll have countless opportunities to learn and grow.The OpportunityIn this role, you will manage multi-disciplinary projects from the proposal stage through to project completion, including establishment and maintenance of budgets and schedules. Working in a team environment, you will ensure projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets, and up to high quality standards.Your Key ResponsibilitiesDesign modifications to existing power generating systems, as well as new power generation facilities, covering the generator through grid interconnection and balance-of-plant electrical systems for hydroelectric generating stations and associated switchyards.Manage and execute multiple projects concurrently, from proposal development through detailed engineering, construction support, and project close-out. Projects may range from small to large in scale and include hydroelectric generation, transmission, and distribution systems.Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Protection and Control (P&C;) systems for substations and power generation facilities.Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of major electrical equipment, including power transformers, generators, high and medium-voltage switchgear,



and DC systems.Develop electrical layouts for switchyards, including equipment arrangements, cable routing, and grounding systems.Prepare technical specifications for generator powerhouse electrical systems and substation E-House (Electrical House) facilities.Produce protection logic diagrams, protection schematics, and detailed wiring diagrams.Perform power system studies using ETAP, EasyPower, or similar software, and prepare comprehensive technical study reports (e.G., load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, coordination).Maintain strong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, including CEC, NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, and related regulations.Demonstrate experience in site investigations, condition assessments, and providing engineering support during construction and commissioning phases (preferred).Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project scope while meeting quality objectives, schedules, and budget constraints.Familiarity with PLC and SCADA communication systems is considered an asset.Support business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities with existing and prospective clients.Provide technical leadership, including mentoring and guiding junior engineering staff.About YouTo fill the role, we're looking for an applicant to bring forward a good mix of qualifications and previous experience.



Some highlights could include:Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university; a post graduate degree would be an asset.Minimum of 10 years' experience in electrical engineering with demonstrated project management skills (tracking budgets and meeting schedules).Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario. Registration in other Canadian provinces would be an additional asset.Previous consulting experience is preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.Candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.Demonstrated experience in site investigations, condition assessments, design and construction support is preferred.Detailed knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and other relevant codes and standards for construction of new facilities and facility expansions.Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects.Travel to project sites is usually limited but is required depending on project/client requirements.Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability/willingness to undergo security clearance checks.This job posting is for a current vacancy. The salary range for this role is between $130,000 to $160,000 annually.Please note that the salary range mentioned in this job description should serve simply as a guide.
