The RN continually enhances their practice and competencies through ongoing learning, education, experience and reflective practice.RESPONSIBILITIES:The primary role of the RN is to provide holistic, evidence‑based, culturally appropriate, patient‑centred quality care in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards and SMH’s mission, vision, values and policies. Registration with the College of Nurses of OntarioBLS CertificationCurrent Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Certificate within 6 months of hirePerinatal Nursing Certificate, or willing to complete upon hirerequired or willingness to complete within 3 years.Completion of a Basic Level Breast Feeding Certificate or willingness to complete within 6 months of employment required.Recent experience in an Advanced Level II Nursery, Level III Nursery or completion of the George Brown perinatal courseCurrent STABLE Program or ACORN provider an asset.Experience with added nursing skills and sanctioned medical acts of an NICU (capillary bloodwork, IVs, suctioning of ETTs)Demonstrates knowledge of Neonatal standards of care including ventilated infantsMust have knowledge of pre‑term and full‑term infant pathophysiology and the management and intervention of infants requiring acute careAbility to work collaboratively with other professions / disciplines in a team environmentProven planning, time management, organization and coordination skillsExcellent attendance recordUnity Health Toronto is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive organization.
