Reporting to the Team Lead, Distribution Design, you will communicate directly with clients and customers to establish service requirements and provide solid design solutions and alternatives that meet client needs. You will work with landowners, customers, and other client departments to ensure that the projects are effectively coordinated and executed by yourself. You will ensure that facilities are designed in a safe, cost‑effective and timely manner and meet all applicable codes, standards and regulations.Your Key ResponsibilitiesDesign distribution infrastructure to meet the project requirementsDevelop design solutions that meet all applicable codes,
standards and regulationsDevelop project cost estimates and material listsManage external client relationships through effective and timely communicationMonitor project progress and take action to meet client requirementsTravel and perform site visits as requiredIdentify potential safety or environmental concerns and initiate appropriate actionCoordinate designs with various 3rd party stakeholdersFacilitate approval requests with various 3rd party stakeholdersProvide technical guidance to customers, stakeholders, and external consultantsYour Capabilities and CredentialsEligible or registered as a C.E.T. in Canada (an asset)Effective interpersonal skills – Strong written and verbal skills are a must, to ensure explicit communication between team members, clients, contractors, and suppliersAble to work effectively as a member of a teamStrong time management and prioritization skillsDemonstrated project management skills with the ability to set priorities, organize work and complete work within given timelinesPLSCAD or SPIDAcalc knowledge would be an assetValid Class 5 Driver’s LicenseEducation and ExperienceElectrical Engineering technology diploma.Minimum of 3 years of experience designing power utility infrastructure within North AmericaPrior experience with BC Hydro (strongly preferred)Benefits SummaryRegular full‑time and part‑time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) will have access to health, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health care spending
