Then, watch for a unique link in your email to apply.RoleThe Manager, Investment Finance & Valuations will be responsible for activities that support the valuation of OMERS private equity investments. Primary responsibilities include hands-on preparation and review of valuation models and reports, strategic planning analyses, performance measurement, portfolio analytics and various other activities in support of both the Finance (Valuations & Reporting) and Investment teams, as required. To support these responsibilities, the successful candidate must have a solid grounding in private market valuations, strong interpersonal skills, experience in financial modeling and reporting, and a willingness to learn current skills and systems.We believe that time together in the office is important for OMERS and Oxford, the strength of our employees, and the work we do for our pension members. Our flexible hybrid work guideline requires teams to come to the office a minimum of 4 days per week.ResponsibilitiesThe hands-on development and review of private equity investment valuations on a quarterly basis, including the preparation of valuation models (e.G.,
discounted cash flow and comparable company / precedent transaction approaches) and drafting of valuation memos and reportsAssisting with the annual strategic planning process, which includes forecasting, budgeting and projecting investment values and returns for portfolio investmentsLiaising with Investment and Risk Teams to review past performance, strategy, outlook, regulatory and other relevant and emerging issues that could impact values of portfolio investmentsMonitoring market events and developments and assessing the impact on asset valuationsIdentifying and understanding value drivers and investment risks across portfolio assetsLiaising with external auditors and valuators to review and support valuation conclusionsProviding valuation analysis and insights on existing investments in support of decision-makingAssisting with other financial reporting valuation requirements or other fair value disclosures, as requiredProviding ongoing assistance to the Finance Team, Investment Team, Risk Team or other corporate functions, as requiredAssisting in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, including working closely with the Finance Reporting Team, as requiredStaying abreast of trends and developments in the valuations field, seeking out opportunities both to increase knowledge and demonstrate subject matter expertise on valuation practices; andParticipating in special projects, as requiredQualifications5+ years of valuations and accounting experienceChartered Business Valuation (CBV) designation or advanced enrollment in the CBV ProgramExperience in financial reporting, Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation would be a strong assetStrong excel and modeling skills,
