Responsibilities

- Fabricate, fit, and repair drilling rig components and equipment according to engineering drawings and quality standards
- Perform basic welding using GMAW, FCAW, and MCAW processes with manual and semi-automatic equipment
- Apply foundational knowledge of welding techniques, metal properties, and trade math to support fabrication tasks
- Follow proper lifting, rigging, and hoisting practices in accordance with safety standards
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment while supporting general shop operations and team activities

Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED required; completion of the first period of vocational welding training or equivalent apprenticeship in progress




- Minimum 1+ year of shop or manufacturing experience preferred, with progress toward required on-the-job training hours
- Ability to read structural blueprints and welding symbols is an asset
- Robust commitment to safety, with working knowledge of OHS regulations, WHMIS, and proper PPE use
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated team player with good communication skills and a basic understanding of hand and power tools
