Contribute to the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation as a Community Justice Worker. This role focuses on supporting Indigenous clients through a restorative justice approach and managing diversion referrals.
MKO is implementing the First Nations Justice Strategy at Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation. The Community Justice Worker will provide personalized services for court-diverted Indigenous individuals, guiding them through the diversion process and accessing necessary resources. Key skills include case management, community advocacy, and knowledge of restorative practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage Pre and Post Charge Diversion Referrals
• Attend court sessions to support and advocate for clients
• Deliver programming in violence prevention and mediation
• Maintain accurate case management and filing systems
• Liaise with service providers and community resources
Requirements:
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of Criminal Justice and Indigenous issues
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills
• Valid Class 5F Manitoba Driver's license
• Ability to obtain criminal record checks
