Drive your career forward as an Underground Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic at the Voisey’s Bay project on the East coast of Labrador. This hands-on role involves high-stakes maintenance and repair of critical mining equipment.
In collaboration with Innu Inuit Redpath Limited Partnership, your duties will span from diagnostic assessment to component repair, all within an underground mining environment under a 14/14 rotation. You'll focus on ensuring safety compliance while mentoring new team members in a remote site camp setting. Mastery of performance testing and familiarity with heavy machinery is essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and repair diesel and hydraulic systems • Maintain various mobile mining equipment • Conduct performance tests post-repair • Identify hazardous conditions in underground workings • Provide mentorship for apprentices in mechanical tasks
Requirements: • Journeyperson certification in Heavy Duty Mechanics • Minimum 3 years of related experience • Understanding of electrical/hydraulic schematics • Experience with diagnostic tools for heavy machinery • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
