The Centre for Innovation (C4I) at Medicine Hat College (MHC) is pleased to offer three Student Research Assistant position s focused on strengthening Canada’s Reserve Force through whole-of-society mobilization . We invite current students enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution who are motivated, analytical, and interested in defence , public policy, emergency management, workforce development and applied research to apply.

The project team will include three student researchers, each supporting a distinct area of the project:

A little about the role:

Research and Policy Analysis:

In this role, you will:
- Conduct literature reviews and policy scans related to defence readiness, emergency management, Reserve Force expansion, workforce development, and national resilience.
- Research and analyze workforce skill requirements.
- Prepare briefing notes and contribute to a final report summarizing findings and recommendations.





Stakeholder Engagement and Communications:
In this role, you will:
- Plan and organize stakeholder engagement activities.
- Prepare communications for project team and participants
- Contribute to reports, briefing notes, and presentations.
Economics:
In this role, you will:
- Support cost benefit and return on investment analysis.
- Research training, recruitment, and retention costs.
- Assist in developing evidence-based economic models.

Details:

- A strong interest in defence policy, innovation systems, and public sector strategy
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Robust written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- A background or strong interest in Political Science, Business, Education or Finance.
