Due to the leadership nature of this position, additional and varied hours may be required. Salary Scale: CAD $53.27 – $66.59 per hour (2025 SH08) Job Description Sinai Health is seeking a Senior Manager for the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care department. The Senior Manager is responsible for supporting and monitoring the systems that support quality patient care, efficient operations, and staff growth and development. The position’s core functions are to oversee the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of patient care and strategic initiatives across the Centre, including the Centre’s annual Achievement Review process and Achievement Plan, quality improvement processes, shared electronic medical record system, patient and caregiver engagement strategy, website and other external communication tools for key stakeholders, including patients and caregivers, health care professionals and donors. The senior manager will provide administrative oversight for the Centre’s operations and academic programs, including providing leadership, mentorship and supervision to the office manager, CPAs, education coordinator, project specialist, research assistant, and other research staff as appropriate. In this role you will: Strategic initiatives Work with the Leadership Team, identify and prioritize initiatives that will enhance the Centre’s operations and help the Centre to effectively meet the emerging needs of our key stakeholders (e.G., patients and their caregivers, care team partners, University of Toronto, Sinai Health, donors) Provide support, advice and technical assistance to cross-functional teams to plan, execute and evaluate a variety of complex, innovative, project‑based strategic and quality improvement initiatives deemed critical to the ongoing evolution of the Centre’s services and programs Assist the Director to navigate the evolving healthcare landscape, including supporting relationships with Ontario Health @ home or successor organization and the Ontario Health Teams (OHTs) Identify and build opportunities for collaboration with external key stakeholders, including but not limited to the, OHT, University of Toronto and Sinai Health. Ensure strategies are clearly understood by all stakeholders and that the organization is achieving its strategic goals at the optimum pace Ensure initiatives/plans adhere to appropriate policies and regulations, and are aligned with the Centre’s vision, strategic directions and values Specific ongoing initiatives Oversee the Achievement Review process and creation of the Centre’s annual Achievement Plan Develop and oversee a performance monitoring system for the Centre that includes identifying and monitoring of indicators and targets for quality, service, and efficiency of the organization.



Co‑lead the Centre’s EMR Committee to ensure efficient use of our electronic medical records system while ensuring medical and legal requirements are adhered to Develop and manage the Centre’s patient and caregiver engagement strategy Administrative/operational responsibilities Provide administrative oversight for the Centre’s operations and academic programs, to ensure appropriate systems, policies and procedures are in place to enable work activities to flow smoothly for all aspects of the Centre, including clinical, education and research program areas Participate in the recruitment, hiring and onboarding of administrative, academic and professional staff as appropriate, including assessing the human resource requirements and development of job descriptions Provide leadership, mentorship and administrative supervision to the Centre’s Office Manager and Project Specialist Approve bi‑weekly timesheets Ensure have sufficient understanding of the TPCA policies and procedures for business continuity in situations of an unexpected absence of the Office Manager and/or external and internal crises Work closely with the Sinai Health Foundation and Director to prepare program funding proposals and donor reports, and ensure adherence to donor and funding agreements Work with the Office Manager and the Director to develop the annual funding allocation plan for donor funds Participate in fund account review meetings Collate data and prepare reports for submission to MOH Oversee maintenance of the Centre’s website to ensure that the information is current and appropriate for the information needs of the site’s multiple audiences Oversee the development of information resources for patients and their caregivers, working closely with contracted writers, graphic designers and other consultants Participate in the Centre’s Leadership Team, bringing any issues forward as they relate to Centre operations, the academic programs and strategic initiatives Support the Privacy Officer of the TPCA Actively participate in developing, implementing and evaluating Sinai Health’s Palliative Care strategy as appropriate Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required Job Requirements Job Responsibilities Masters degree in health administration, health-related or business/administration discipline 5 years of experience in leadership, strategic planning and project management, preferably in an academic health care facility 5 years of experience in a management and supervisory role Skills and Knowledge Proven success in a leadership role, with demonstrated ability to apply leadership, critical‑thinking, analytical, problem‑solving and change management skills to the work environment Excellent project management and operations experience Demonstrated understanding of human resource legislation, policies and procedures financial systems and accounting principles information technology systems, including electronic medical record systems,



preferably Telus’ Med Access communication principles for external audiences (e.G., patients and caregivers, health care professionals, donors) Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure with multiple competing demands Team development and facilitation techniques Ability to make decisions and exercise valuable judgment, discretion and initiative Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality of records and information in accordance with federal and provincial privacy legislation Highly computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office, including Microsoft Access, and electronic medical records (preferably Telus’ Med Access) Solid work ethic and demonstrated work performance and attendance history If this sounds like you and you feel ready to build your career within health care, apply now and let us know why you’d be a great addition to our team.
