Employment OpportunityCAMPUSMINISTERCatholic Chaplaincy at York University (CCY)4700 Keele Street, First Student Centre, North York, ON M3J 1P3Full time (35 hours per week)Replacement PositionLevel 10: $46,117 – $69,175Overview:The Catholic Chaplaincy at York University (CCY) is seeking a full time Campus Minister to complement the leadership of the Chaplain, fulfilling the mission of Chaplaincy in various areas, such as outreach, evangelization, faith formation, and administration while providing a warm and inviting environment for students and all those who visit the Chaplaincy.Responsibilities:Campus Ministry ProgrammingFaith study leadershipLead all faith studies as requiredAssume responsibility for assigned faith study groups and provide mentorship and supportWomen’s ministry coordinationDevelop and deliver programs to foster faith, growth, and maturity, allowing students to come into the fullness of the identity to which God has called themPromote and support student leadership by facilitating large and small group discussionsProvide one-on-one pastoral care and peer mentorship to students and communityFormation and spiritual developmentAssess students’ understanding of the faith through various meansResearch, develop and run programs that address the current needs of students in faith formationVocations coordinator – provide students with opportunities to explore vocational discernmentRCIA coordinator – plan and facilitate the program of RCIA formationOutreach and Relationship BuildingMinistry of presence – engage students intentionally through one-on-one peer mentoring and online activitiesWork collaboratively with the CCY student executiveAdministration and CommunicationBookkeeping and financial processesPlan and implement yearly budget in collaboration with the ChaplainManage all financial responsibilities including record keeping, deposits, etc.Track budget and prepare financial reportsReceptionist tasks – respond to email and phone messages in a timely manner on behalf of CCYParticipate collaboratively in regular staff meetingsFood and hospitality ministry – plan and coordinate the hospitality component of all events requiring foodRetreat coordinator – liaise with retreat facility, speakers and guests and complete all other administrative tasks related to retreatsSacristan – order all necessary supplies and oversee set up for Mass and devotional eventsCollaboration and Professional DevelopmentAttend Archdiocesan campus ministry meetings and events to represent CCYWork collaboratively with other campus ministries and Archdiocesan groupsMaintain membership in Canadian Catholic Campus Ministry (CCCM) and participate in its events as appropriatePursue ongoing professional developmentOther duties, as requiredGeneral Requirements:Post-Secondary degree or diploma with related experience2-5 years experience in ministry (youth, young adult or campus ministry is preferred)Active in Catholic faith practiceKnowledge of the personal and spiritual needs of university and college students and the ability to relate well to themMature judgment and professionalismStrong organization, planning, time management and decision-making skillsExcellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skillsAbility to work effectively as a collaborative team memberFlexibility in work scheduling including evenings and weekends when requiredStrong technical skills (including MS Office 365 and MS Teams)
