PositionLive In Support Worker (Casual / On‑call). Daily rate $505.76. Works in Parksville, BC covering staff illness, LOA, vacation, etc. Must be available for weekdays, weekends, evenings, including 0700‑2300 shifts.ResponsibilitiesAssist persons served with activities of daily living covering personal and health care, behavioural, nutritional, recreational, social, vocational, educational, cultural and environmental needs as identified in their personal‑centered plans while keeping trauma‑informed care at the forefront.Work collaboratively with MCFD, CLBC, VIHA, Mental Health Services, Community Supports, Outreach Teams, Harm Reduction Workers, Cultural Supports, Knowledge Keepers, Schools, Behaviour Consultants, stakeholders and partners.Demonstrate tolerance and respect for the supported individual's unique personality and challenges while promoting dignity and rights.Support and promote a friendly and effective relationship with the support individual, family and team members.Apply crisis intervention and risk management strategies.Assist with case management documentation, identifying strengths and potential challenges, contribute to evaluating progress and preparing reports.Organise household tasks (meal planning, food purchasing and preparation, house cleaning, basic maintenance).Implement daily schedule, including transporting individuals to and from appointments, school, monitoring progress and supporting at‑home learning.Administer medications per policy.Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as required.Provide current Criminal Record Check and/or Government Screening Letter prior to confirmation.Provide three professional references prior to confirmed employment.QualificationsExperience working with youth or adults with complex behaviours.Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Work, Human Services, Education, Sociology or Psychology.Equivalent combination of education, training and experience considered.Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with clean abstract.Reliable, protected vehicle with appropriate insurance for transporting individuals.Experience with trauma‑informed practices.Strong conflict resolution, mediation and crisis prevention and intervention skills.Current WCB Occupational First Aid, Level 1 and CPR certificates required.Non‑violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate and/or MANDT considered an asset.BenefitsEmployee ownership from day one through EOT with profit‑sharing dividends.Work/life balance.Learning and career development opportunities.Competitive wages and salaries.Paid vacation and benefits for eligible employees.Defined benefit pension plan (Municipal Pension Plan) for eligible employees within B.C.Matching RRSP plan for eligible employees within Alberta.Professional development opportunities and job‑related training.Employee and Family Assistance Program.Long Service Milestone rewards.Employee referral bonus program.Values‑driven workplace as a Certified B Corp.Equal‑Opportunity EmployerOur commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment is unwavering.
