Radiation TherapistDepartment: Radiation Treatment, Sault Ste. MarieLocation: Radiation Treatment, Sault Area Hospital ONA ParamedicaEmployment type: Full‑time, PermanentBilingualism required: YesPolice check: Vulnerable Sector CheckSalary: $42.26‑$52.64 per hour. Relocation allowance and health advantages are available.Primary ResponsibilitiesDeliver safe and accurate daily radiation treatments to patients.Educate, prepare, and position patients for treatment.Assess verification images and take corrective actions as necessary.Consult with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists regarding treatment plans.Develop computerised treatment plans based on prescriptions and dose limits.Perform dose calculations and enter data into the Record and Verify system.Conduct quality assurance of treatment plans and dose calculations.Carry out routine quality assurance tests on technical equipment and initiate corrective action.Verify patient information and machine parameters using computer systems.Prepare electronic treatment charts.Perform CT simulation and fabricate custom accessories such as molds and immobilisation devices.Collaborate with other health‑care professionals to ensure quality patient care and continuing professional education.Evaluate patient care and satisfaction,



developing improvement solutions.Participate in education and training on current federal and provincial health and safety regulations.Represent the department on committees and meetings as required.QualificationsCurrent certificate of registration in Radiation Therapy from the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).Current Certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).Current membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is preferred.Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a health‑care environment.Versatile knowledge of Ontario Hospital Association / Ontario Medical Association Communicable Disease Surveillance Protocols.Experience with lean methodology for process improvement.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and patient information systems.Excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and computer skills.Dedication to safety, confidentiality, and professional development.Personal SuitabilitySuccessful Vulnerable Sector Check required.Ability to work independently and in a team.Prioritise duties under minimal supervision.Commitment to ongoing professional development and ethical conduct.Positive work record and good attendance.Physical and sensory demands of the role can be met.Ability to travel between local sites.Selection ProcessCandidates will be selected on the basis of their skills, experience and qualifications as identified in the resume and application.
