Primary English Teacher (JK – Grade 6) – Part Time

Location & Commute

Must reside in Oakville or be commuting from Mississauga, Burlington, Etobicoke, or Milton. This is an in‑person position; virtual work is not available.

Job Summary

Oxford Learning Oakville Uptown Core is seeking a part‑time English/Literacy teacher to work with students in a supplemental education setting. The role involves teaching a small group of students, guiding their language development, and following the Oxford Learning methodology.

Position Requirements

- Work after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the school year, and ideally through summer, is preferred.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Teaching certification.
- Strong knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 6 curriculum.

Experience

- Experience teaching young children in a joyful manner.
- Experience teaching Kindergarten to Grade 6 students.
- Strong written and oral English communication skills; able to guide students’ understanding through a variety of resources.




- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and skilled manner at all times.
