Data Scientist 2What it’s like to be a Northbridge Data Scientist. The Data Science Team is a central partner to the business for Northbridge’s predictive and prescriptive capability using applied statistics, machine learning or artificial intelligence to build business solutions. The primary role of the Data Scientist is to participate in the data science lifecycle to develop and deploy analytical models, tackling a breadth of challenges from wrangling data to finding the optimal model fit, to delivering results to business stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the data science lifecycle from understanding the business problem, to data extraction, to model development, to production deployment and change managementPerform data extraction and wrangling, and conduct exploratory data analysisTrain and evaluate applied statistics and machine learning models, using open source and cloud-based proprietary softwareDevelop deployment scripts for batch and real-time delivery of model outputMaintain deployed models by running and delivering model output and debugging scripts as neededQualificationsUndergraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science,
or a relevant field2-4 years of skilled experience in applied statistics and/or machine learning model development and implementation2-4 years of professional experience in data wrangling and feature engineering, including SQL writing queries to integrate data from multiple sources2+ years of programming experience with SQL and Python/RProficiency in operational procedures, workflow, and processing functionsExperience in scalable data engineering, software engineering and/or MLOps practices is an assetBenefitsHybrid work: 50/50 office and at home, allowing flexible management of both worlds.Competitive base salary ranging from $84,000 to $126,000, reflected for base pay only.
