Become a Veterinary Assistant at the BC SPCA and engage in meaningful work that supports animals and their owners. This full-time, temporary position is designed for those dedicated to quality care and client service.
In this role, you will assist in patient handling, provide exceptional customer service, and ensure smooth hospital operations. Your responsibilities will include appointment scheduling, assisting in surgeries, and maintaining inventory for the clinic. Your contributions will directly support the mission of the BC SPCA.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support veterinarians and clients during appointments
• Schedule and confirm all patient appointments efficiently
• Maintain inventory and cleanliness in the clinic
• Handle and document patient information accurately
• Participate in both client education and follow-up communications
Requirements:
• Completion of a Veterinary Office Assistant Certificate preferred
• Experience in customer service with animal care background
• Solid attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to understand and follow pet handling protocols
• Willingness to engage in physically demanding tasks when necessary
