Eritrean Canadian Community Centre of Metropolitan Toronto
Toronto
The Eritrean Canadian Community Centre of Metropolitan Toronto is a community-based, not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to supporting newcomers and immigrants, particularly those of Eritrean and broader African descent, as well as the wider community across the Greater Toronto Area. The Centre delivers programs and educational initiatives designed to facilitate successful integration into Canadian society.
Our clients include seniors, women, youth, and adults of all genders, ranging from long-established GTA residents to newly arrived immigrants. While most services are delivered at our Centre, we also extend support beyond our location through in-person outreach and virtual platforms. Additionally, we host online workshops and presentations—such as Zoom sessions—to raise awareness on key topics including mental health, employment readiness, and community resources.
The Centre offers a wide range of services, including settlement support, youth soccer programming, seniors’ programs, tutoring services, sponsorship assistance, a laptop and book loan program, and Eritrean identity verification services.
Through participation in the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program, the Centre provides youth under 30 with valuable opportunities to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting while developing new skills. The program also supports the organization in enhancing service delivery, expanding outreach to more clients,
and strengthening internal data management and administrative capacity.
