Support individuals with developmental disabilities at the Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion in a part-time role. This Community Support Worker position is based in Richmond/Steveston, focusing on community engagement.
In your regular part time role, you will support individuals by assisting with community activities that resonate with their interests and goals. You'll promote safety and health while connecting them to their families and friends, helping them contribute and participate meaningfully.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist individuals in engaging group environments
• Maintain connections with their support system
• Encourage and acknowledge contributions from individuals
• Prioritize safety and well-being in all activities
• Help individuals gain community knowledge and experiences
Requirements:
• Ability to work well both independently and in teams
• Experience with autism or medical challenges advantageous
• Knowledge of person-centered thinking preferred
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License essential
• TB screening and vaccination status disclosure mandatory
