The Finance Manager is responsible for QMUNITY’s financial management and accounting systems. This role oversees budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, audits, compliance, grants administration, and financial policy development.Working closely with the Executive Director, Board Treasurers, external contractors, and program leadership, the Finance Manager plays a key role in supporting the financial stewardship and operational systems of a growing and evolving organization. The role also contributes to organizational planning as QMUNITY prepares to expand into its new permanent community centre.Core ResponsibilitiesMaintains financial records, reporting systems, and accounting processesOversees bookkeeping, reconciliations, and monthly reporting, and serves as the liaison with QMUNITY’s external bookkeeperOversees financial operations including payroll, AP/AR, and our corporate credit cards (via Float Financial)Manages QMUNITY’s treasury function, monitoring cash reserves and investmentsEnsures compliance with organizational policies, charitable regulations, CRA requirements, funder obligations, and the Societies ActDevelops and manages organizational and program budgets in collaboration with leadershipMonitors financial performance, forecasting, and quarterly budget reviewsReports financial performance to Board and staffSupports donation tracking and financial systems connected to fund developmentAdvises leadership on financial policies, operational systems,



and organizational sustainability and maintains internal financial policies and proceduresSupports financial planning connected to QMUNITY’s future growth and new building transitionLeads and manages QMUNITY’s annual audit process from start to finishServes as primary liaison with external auditors and coordinates all audit communications, reconciliations, documentation, and follow-up requestsPrepares audit working papers, financial records, supporting documentation, and schedules required for annual audit completionSupports final presentation and submission of audited financial statements to the Board of Directors and AGMGrants and ReportingLeads financial administration and oversight of grants, contracts, and restricted fundingMaintains systems to track reporting deadlines, deliverables, restricted funding allocations, and compliance obligationsCoordinates with program and leadership staff to prepare and submit accurate financial reports for funders and contractsMonitors grant spending and identifies budget variances, reporting risks, and compliance concernsMaintains strong systems for funding reconciliation, audit readiness, and financial documentationPayroll, Benefits & HR AdministrationOversees payroll administration and processing for all staffManages QMUNITY’s payroll and HR systems, including RISE payroll softwareAdministers employee perks plans, pension enrollment, and related staff supportsMaintains employee vacation accruals, leaves, sick time,



and related records in accordance with organizational policies and collective agreement requirementsCoordinates payroll-related onboarding, offboarding, and employment changesSupports compliance with payroll legislation, remittances, employment standards, and internal policiesSupports staffing budgets, position tracking, and workforce planningSecondary ResponsibilitiesOrganizational Operations & LeadershipCollaborates with the Executive Director and leadership team on operational planning and strategic initiativesProvides operational leadership support related to organizational administration and systemsContributes to a collaborative, equity-focused, and community-centered workplace cultureOther related duties as requiredIdeal QualificationsDiploma, degree, or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related fieldMinimum three years of experience in financial management, accounting, payroll, or organizational financeExperience administering payroll, benefits, pension plans, and HR/payroll systems such as RISE or comparable platformsKnowledge of charitable reporting requirements, financial controls, and grant complianceExperience working within unionized environments considered an assetStrong understanding of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and commitment to QMUNITY’s mission and valuesRequirementsCriminal record checkAdhere to all QMUNITY policies and proceduresFirst Aid, CPR and ASIST certification is an assetCommitment to a high standard of service and an atmosphere of respect and dignity in all aspects of the programs and services for our communitiesWhat We OfferCAD$85,000 to CAD$90,000Extended health and dental planWellness benefit#J-18808-Ljbffr
