Consideration will be given to women, Indigenous people, visible minorities and persons with disabilities.ResponsibilitiesPlan, develop, implement, and administer regional wildlife management programs for the Northeast Region.Perform budget planning and administration for programs.Develop and implement provincial and regional wildlife policies and programs.Implement and evaluate wildlife management programs.Supervise staff and provide client service.Maintain resource inventory, plan and allocation.Represent departmental wildlife interests regionally.Build and maintain relationships with municipalities, Indigenous and Northern communities, local wildlife associations, licensed and rights‑based users, and other stakeholders.Ensure wildlife activities are conducted with appropriate scientific rigor.Qualifications – EssentialUniversity degree in biology, natural resource management or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Experience leading the development,



implementation and evaluation of complex natural resource management actions, plans, programs, and projects.Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships and resolve conflicts internally and externally.Strong organizational and time‑management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Experience applying wildlife legislation, policies and guidelines to make and recommend wildlife management decisions.Experience supervising staff, including performance management, work‑plan development and training plans.Solid verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.Strong written communication skills for drafting management plans, technical reports, advisory notes and correspondence with accuracy, clarity and conciseness.Knowledge of treaties within Manitoba and Section 35 consultation requirements with Indigenous communities.Ability to work independently.DesiredExperience in financial administration and budget planning.Conditions of EmploymentMust be legally entitled to work in Canada.Must be physically able to undertake the duties of the position, including conducting field work in rough terrain and on water, during all seasons and under adverse weather conditions.Must possess and maintain a valid full‑stage Manitoba Class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent).Must be able to work evenings, weekends and overtime as required.Some overnight travel in the province may be required.Must be able to travel to and work in remote locations for extended periods within Manitoba, traveling by various means such as chartered aircraft, boat, ATV, and snowmobile.Applicants may request reasonable accommodation related to the materials or activities used throughout the selection process.#J-18808-Ljbffr
