Program Risk Manager – Capital One CanadaLocation: 161 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end execution of risk programs, partnering with Canada Business and Enterprise to identify and manage inherent risks within business programs for Capital One Canada.Engage in risk programs and assessments to identify risks and work with key stakeholders to mitigate and remediate as appropriate.Monitor and analyze the internal and external risk workplace to proactively identify emerging risks and trends, supporting the business’s well‑managed agenda.Partner with second‑line teams (e.G., ERM, ORM, Compliance/AML) and business partners to manage operational risk programs and create leading‑edge solutions.Use your perspective to connect changes in strategic and operational priorities and risk environment, partnering with stakeholders to drive meaningful impacts within operational risk.Apply independent judgment and knowledge of the Canadian regulatory environment to influence design and implementation of risk programs, aligning with Enterprise Risk Standards.Cultivate a strong, proactive risk‑management mindset and culture with business partners.Manage and prioritize risk projects, consistently driving and delivering results.Ensure adherence to Capital One Risk Standards by maintaining knowledge and monitoring systems of record for accuracy, quality, and consistency.Basic Qualifications5+ years of hands‑on experience leading and executing complex risk‑management programs, risk assessments, compliance, or audit, preferably within a regulated financial institution.Solid understanding of risk management, governance principles (Three Lines of Defense),
and relevant Canadian regulatory expectations.Demonstrated business maturity with the ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders across the organization.Ability to distill complex information into a transparent and concise risk narrative.Ability to work autonomously and apply independent judgment to deliver actionable recommendations and outcomes.Solid analytical and investigative skills with the ability to generate innovative ideas, insights, and opinions.Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a portfolio of risk projects and deliverables.Passionate about risk management, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree.Experience in a regulatory environment, financial institutions, or consulting to financial institutions.Experience in risk consulting, compliance, operational risk management, enterprise risk management, or audit.SQL or data‑visualization skills.Experience with industry frameworks such as ISO 31000 and/or COSO.Experience working at Capital One.BenefitsHybrid work environment – 3 days in the office.One‑time work‑from‑home allowance and flexible workspace options.Full coverage for spouses, domestic partners, and dependents.Up to $3,000 in mental‑health coverage per year.Up to $5,000 in tuition subsidies per year.Additional benefits include comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, and various employee‑assistance programs.Salary & IncentivesExpected annual salary range: $130,000–$148,400.
