We are a fast- growing food manufacturing company currently establishing a new production facility in the Calgary area.The company is backed by an experienced leadership team with a strong track record in the industry, focusing on high-quality food production and scalable operations in the North American market.As the business continues to expand, they are building out their core team and looking for detail-oriented professionals to support day-to-day operations.POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking a proactive and hands-on HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for recruitment, employee lifecycle management, HR administration, performance management, employee relations, training coordination, HR policy development and enforcement, and workplace health & safety HR-related administration.The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with both office and production teams in a growing manufacturing operation.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Recruitment & Talent AcquisitionSupport workforce planning and staffing coordination with department managersPerform full-cycle recruitment for manufacturing and office positions based on approved headcount requirementsManage job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and other recruitment activitiesCoordinate and conduct new hire onboarding and orientation processesMaintain recruitment trackers, hiring records, and recruitment-related documentation2. Employee Lifecycle AdministrationAdminister employee onboarding, probation reviews, employee status changes, and offboarding processesMaintain and update employee information in payroll, office automation system, group benefits, and other internal systems to ensure accurate and timely records managementMaintain accurate electronic and physical employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation throughout the employee lifecycle in compliance with company policies and employment regulationsMaintain HR data tracking and prepare HR reportsPrepare employment letters and other HR-related documentation as neededSupport HR projects, process improvements,
and other departmental initiatives as assigned3. Attendance, Payroll & Perks AdministrationMonitor employee attendance, timekeeping, overtime, and leave records, and assist employees with payroll, attendance, and leave-related inquiriesReview and maintain attendance data to support accurate payroll processingProcess payroll in coordination with the Finance teamAdminister group benefits enrollment, changes, terminations, and employee inquiries. Liaise with benefits providers to ensure accurate and timely processingMaintain confidentiality and accuracy of payroll and benefits records4. Training & Policy AdministrationCoordinate internal training programs, new hire onboarding training, and compliance-related training initiativesMaintain training records, completion tracking, and related documentationSupport the implementation, communication, interpretation, and consistent application of company policies and proceduresAssist with updating employee policies, handbook materials, workplace notices, and employee acknowledgment records5. Employee RelationsServe as a point of contact for employee HR inquiries and workplace concerns.Handle employee relations matters and conduct workplace investigations as needed.Support managers in addressing employee performance, attendance, conduct, and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies and employment standardsSupport employee engagement and workplace communication initiatives. Promote a positive, respectful, and compliant workplace culture6.
Performance ManagementSupport implementation of performance management programs and employee development initiativesCoordinate performance review documentation and follow-up actionsAssist managers with performance improvement processes and employee coaching documentationTrack performance review timelines and maintain related records7. Health & Safety / WCB AdministrationSupport workplace health & safety programs and related documentationCoordinate incident reporting and WCB claim administrationMaintain safety records, training records, and required compliance documentationAssist with modified work coordination and return-to-work administrationSupport ongoing compliance with occupational health & safety requirementsParticipate in Health & Safety Committee activities and support workplace safety initiativesQUALIFICATIONSDiploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.CPHR designation is considered an asset; equivalent experience and/or education will also be considered.1-3 years of experience in HR administration, coordination, or generalist functions.Experience in manufacturing, food production, warehouse, or industrial environments is strongly preferred.Strong recruitment and talent acquisition skills, preferably in manufacturing or operational environments.Working knowledge of Alberta employment legislation.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.Excellent organizational, time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail.Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience working with HRIS, payroll, and other HR-related systems.Professional working proficiency in both English and Mandarin is requiredWORKING CONDITIONSCombination of office and manufacturing plant environmentRegular interaction with production, warehouse, and office employees in a fast-paced operational settingMay require occasional presence on the production floor to support employee relations, onboarding, training, safety, and operational needsOccasional flexibility in working hours may be required to support different shifts, recruitment activities, or operational needsLocation: Cross Iron Area, north of Calgary.
