As Program Manager in Research and Development, you will lead and execute complex cross‑functional R&D; programs, aligning technical, regulatory, and business considerations to drive portfolio strategy and commercialization success.What You’ll DoProgram Leadership– Lead end‑to‑end execution of multiple critically important R&D; programs, including new product development, design changes, and sustaining initiatives; integrate programplansacross R&D;, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial functions.Governance & Planning– Establish integrated program plans, schedules, budgets and dependency maps; monitor executionagainst scope, timeline, cost and quality targets; lead formal risk,issue, and change control processes; develop dashboards and KPIs.Stakeholder Engagement– Partner with senior leadership and sponsors to provide transparent, executive‑ready updates; prepare and present program reviews, milestone updates, and escalation materials; influence prioritization, resourcing and investment decisions.Cross‑Functional & External Collaboration– Coordinate inputs from R&D; disciplines, Quality, Regulatory, Operations,



Supply Chain and Commercial teams; manage relationships and ensure compliance with regulations and internal procedures.Team Leadership & Capability Development– Provide clear role clarity and accountability; coach and mentor team leads; lead retrospectives andlessons‑learned activities to drive continuous improvement.Change & Transformation Enablement– Drive adoption of improved tools, processes and governance models; support change management initiatives within R&D.QualificationsRequired; – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or related discipline.At least eight years of progressive experience in program or project management within R&D; or regulated product development environments, including leadership of cross‑functional teams.Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross‑functional programs in regulated industries such as medical devices, diagnostics or life sciences.Proficiency with phase‑gated product development, design control, and lifecycle management processes.Experience working across R&D;, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing/Operations, and Commercial functions.Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization and influence without direct authority.Preferred – Experience with Agile, hybrid, or traditional development models; familiarity with SCRUM.Preferred – Project Management Skilled (PMP), Program Management Qualified (PgMP), or equivalent certification.SalaryThe annual base salary ranges from$120,000.00 to $168,000.00 CADfor this position within Canada.Significant Work ActivitiesContinuous standing for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8‑hour day).Abbott is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to employee diversity.#J-18808-Ljbffr
