Resicare Society of Calgary is seeking a dedicated female roommate for respite care focused on supporting a young woman with developmental disabilities. Engage in enjoyable activities and assist with her daily needs in the SW area.
This part-time role transitions into full-time support at the home. Candidates must provide personalized assistance, foster a caring workplace, and implement supportive strategies while working closely with her family and the Resicare support team. Your aim will be to empower her independence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support a non-verbal young woman daily
• Assist with personal care and living activities
• Create and maintain a safe, supportive space
• Document care and support strategies accurately
• Work collaboratively with the family and support team
Requirements:
• Diploma in Rehabilitation Services or related field
• At least 2 years of experience required
• Current First Aid/CPR certification necessary
• Vulnerable Police clearance check required
• Commitment to empowering individuals through relationships
