- Preparing and serving home-cooked meals using fresh, real ingredients for a large group of residents.
- Planning and prepping meals for the current and following day.
- Assisting the Food Service Manager with kitchen operations as needed.
- Ensuring proper food presentation and portion control.
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all food preparation areas in accordance with health regulations.
- Supporting kitchen tasks including lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for long periods.
- Cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas according to established standards.
- Adhering to safety and food handling protocols at all times.
- Focusing on preparing authentic Korean cuisine to meet the cultural and dietary preferences of residents.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Proven experience cooking in a busy kitchen environment, preferably in a senior care or institutional setting.
- Ability to prepare large-batch meals with attention to taste, presentation, and dietary requirements.
- Solid understanding of and experience in Korean cuisine (preferred).
- Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks related to food service.
- Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to hire, including a Vulnerable Sector Screening, in accordance with applicable provincial and federal regulations.
