General X-Ray TechnologistEmployment Status: Permanent Full TimeReporting Relationship: Manager, Medical ImagingHours of Work: 8 hour rotating shifts on weekdays, evenings, nights and/or weekends - subject to change as per Article HRH 2 – Management RightsEmployee Group: OPSEU 577Hourly Rate Range: $36.84 - $50.24Location: Hennick Humber Hospital- Wilson SiteResponsibilitiesPerform all x‑ray exams as per determined departmental protocols.Includes general x‑ray, O.R., Portables, Gastric exams, Fluoroscopy and minor procedures.Operate all types of equipment including general x‑ray rooms (DR & CR), mobile x‑ray, c‑arm fluoroscopy, general fluoroscopy and multi‑purpose rooms.Prepare and assess patients for radiologic procedures including obtaining consent and confirming exam validity; resourcing radiologistsas is necessary and sterile technique practices.Complete exam process by image review, confirming documentation and presenting to radiologists for reporting via film and/or PACS.Follow radiation safety practices for the protection of the patient, colleagues and occupational dose.QualificationsMust be registered and in positive standing with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).



CAMRT is preferred.Must have past experience in Emergency, Operating Room and Portable Radiology.Ability to work independently or part of a team internally and externally to the Medical Imaging Department.Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.Must be willing to cross‑train and work in other areas of the department when necessary.An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
