This role is responsible for full-cycle accounting, payroll, government remittances, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end/quarter-end close activities.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position requires someone who can work independently, take ownership of processes, and support the financial health and operational success of the business through accurate reporting and strong financial controls.What You’ll DoFull Cycle AccountingManage full-cycle accounting for multiple entities including restaurant operations, franchising, located both in Canada and U.S.Prepare monthly financial statements, including variance analysis with explanatory notesPerform month-end and quarter-end close processesManage intercompany transactions and reconciliations on a quarterly basisPrepare journal entries, accruals,
and reconciliationsSupport year-end audit with a Big 4 audit firm including preparation of working papers and responding to audit queriesPayroll & ComplianceManage full-cycle payroll across multiple companiesPrepare and remit: PD7A, EHT, WSIB, WCB Alberta, WorkSafeBCIssue ROEs, prepare T4s and T2200sReconcile payroll liabilities and employee expensesTax & ReportingPrepare GST/HST calculations and filingsAssist with income tax payable calculationsPrepare transfer pricing calculationsMaintain deferred revenue schedules and waterfall worksheetsAccounts Payable & ReconciliationsEnter vendor bills and maintain AP recordsPerform credit card reconciliationsWhat We’re Looking For5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in restaurant, retail, franchise, or multi-entity environmentsStrong understanding and working knowledge of full-cycle accounting and payrollExperience with month-end and financial statement preparationComfortable managing multiple entities and priorities simultaneouslyStrong Excel skills and attention to detailBasic knowledge of IFRSUnderstanding of Project/Job costingExperience with QBO/QuickBooks Online considered an assetCandidates having QuickBooks Online Certified ProAdvisor certification will be given preferenceKnowledge of project/job costing is an assetWhat We OfferSalary between $80,000 and $85,000Benefits packageThis role is to replace an existing vacancy.Hiring Transparency & AI DisclosureAt barBURRITO, every application is reviewed by a human.
