Job TitleMaintenance ManagerSummaryThe Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities within the plant to ensure people safety standards, food safety standards, equipment, machinery, and facilities are in optimal working condition. The role involves managing and developing a team of maintenance supervisors and technicians, developing and implementing maintenance procedures, overseeing CMMS, managing spare parts and inventory, coordinating with other departments for production efficiency, and ensuring safety of people and equipment.ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Planning and Management:Develop, implement and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.Oversee and ensure routine maintenance, repairs and equipment installations are performed to the set standard.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance and compliance with safety regulations.Manage spare parts inventory aligning to OEM standards and specifications.Team Leadership:Manage, train and mentor a team of maintenance supervisors and technicians.Assign tasks and projects, monitor progress and provide feedback.Implement a skill matrix and development plans.Foster a positive and collaborative work setting.Equipment and Facility Management:Ensure all production equipment operates efficiently and safely.Coordinate maintenance scheduling with production to avoid disruptions.Oversee building infrastructure maintenance (HVAC, plumbing,



electrical).Support larger capital engineering projects and provide deliverables during design review stages.Manage smaller capital engineering projects with active project charters.Safety and Compliance:Implement and enforce safety protocols.Stay up-to-date with local, state and federal regulations related to food manufacturing and maintenance.Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing issues promptly.Participate in People Safety and Food Safety Programs and Audits as outlined by CHG standards.Budget Management:Develop and manage the maintenance budget within plant guidelines.Identify cost-saving opportunities through improved maintenance practices and equipment upgrades.Negotiate contracts and procure necessary parts and equipment.Continuous Improvement:Analyze maintenance performance metrics and identify improvement areas.Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.Participate in cross-functional teams to support operational excellence.Flexibility: Work non‑standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends and holidays.QualificationsEducation/Certifications and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in engineering,



Maintenance Management or related field.Minimum 5 years of maintenance management experience in food manufacturing.Preferred 5 years of engineering background.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.Leadership and interdepartmental relationship development.Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and communication skills.Proficiency in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritize projects.Strong supervisory experience with hiring, disciplinary actions and performance evaluation.Working Conditions and Physical EffortTypical work in an office and manufacturing facility with daily exposure to dust, fumes, noise, vibration and possible chemical, electrical and mechanical hazards.
