As a Talent & Employee Experience Support Partner, you will play a crucial role in shaping a positive and inclusive workplace, ensuring our teams are well-supported from attraction to growth, and enabling the County to deliver on its mission effectively. This is a temporary, full-time 4-month contract opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support comprehensive talent acquisition processes, including advertising, screening, and coordinating interviews.
- Administer full-cycle recruitment for summer student, seasonal, and junior-level positions.
- Manage essential HR data and employee files, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in systems like SAP and SharePoint.
- Coordinate and facilitate onboarding activities, employee development initiatives, and engagement programs.
- Conduct reference checks and process critical documents for new hires, especially for Long Term Care candidates.
- Collect, analyze, and report on HR metrics related to recruitment, talent management, diversity, and engagement.
- Provide responsive support to client departments on employee experience policies and procedures.
- Participate in recruitment events and job fairs to strengthen the County’s employer brand.
- Assist with organizational changes and ensure compliance with leave of absence requests and status updates.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive work culture through support of recognition programs and employee lifecycle touchpoints.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a three (3) year Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a Human Resources setting, with a focus on recruitment.
- General knowledge of relevant employment legislation, acts, and regulations, including a unionized work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous deadlines and competing priorities with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office software applications and experience with an HRIS system (e.g., SAP, Deltek).
- Valid G class driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to travel to off-site locations and work outside of normal business hours as required.
- A Criminal Records Check (less than 6 months old at time of hire) will be required.
- CHRP designation or a Post Graduate Diploma/Certificate in Human Resources Management are considered assets.
