Advocis Broker Services ("ABS") is a boutique, national insurance brokerage affiliated with Advocis – The Financial Advisors Association of Canada, a federally incorporated nonprofit professional association representing financial advisors across Canada. ABS provides insurance solutions that support the professional, regulatory, and risk-management needs of advisors, with a core focus on Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance and related professional liability and commercial insurance solutions. ABS operates within a regulated insurance environment and maintains strong governance, compliance, and financial discipline consistent with its affiliation with a national nonprofit organization.Role OverviewABS is seeking a Licensed Broker, Commercial Insurance to serve as a trusted risk advisor and portfolio manager for commercial clients. This role owns the end-to-end management of a commercial book of business, delivering consultative advice, disciplined risk assessment, and operational excellence across new business, renewals, endorsements, and claims support. The Licensed Broker contributes directly to client retention, revenue growth, and the long-term sustainability of the brokerage while operating within regulatory, underwriting, and governance standards. The role reports to the Director, ABS.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and retain a portfolio of commercial insurance accountsServe as a trusted advisor on risk exposure, coverage strategy, and market optionsLead renewal strategy,



including proactive client engagement and remarketing where appropriateMaintain high client retention through relationship stewardship and responsivenessProfessional Liability (E&O)Group ProgramsCommercial Business Insurance, including AutoRevenue Growth & Business DevelopmentIdentify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within assigned accountsContribute to revenue targets through disciplined opportunity managementPrepare proposals, negotiate terms with insurers, and secure competitive coverage placementsSupport new business acquisition efforts where requiredMaintain pipeline visibility and renewal forecasting disciplineMarket & Underwriter RelationsDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with insurers, MGAs, and underwriting partnersNegotiate coverage terms, pricing, and endorsements on behalf of clientsMaintain knowledge of insurer appetite, product updates, and market conditionsEnsure appropriate market selection consistent with underwriting strategy and compliance requirementsOperational & Regulatory ExcellenceManage electronic interfacing with insurers for current business, endorsements, and renewalsEnsure timely issuance of certificates, documentation, and binding confirmationsMaintain accurate, audit-ready files in Applied Systems (EPIC), Policy Works, and insurer portalsAdhere strictly to brokerage documentation standards and RIBO regulatory expectationsMaintain valid RIBO licensing and relevant professional designations (CAIB, CRM,



CIP or equivalent)Assist clients with claims reporting and documentationSupport effective communication between clients and insurers during claims processesEnsure files reflect appropriate documentation for defensibility and complianceProfessional Standards & Brand RepresentationRepresent ABS with professionalism in all client and insurer interactionsDemonstrate sound judgment, discretion, and ethical conductMaintain up-to-date knowledge of products, regulatory changes, and industry trendsSupport internal collaboration and contribute positively to the ABS team cultureQualifications & ExperienceActive RIBO license (required)Insurance designations (CAIB, CRM, CIP) completed or in progress0-3 years of commercial brokerage experienceDemonstrated experience managing a book of businessStrong understanding of professional liability and commercial insurance marketsProven ability to negotiate with underwritersHigh attention to detail and strong workflow disciplineStrong interpersonal and consultative communication skillsPerformance ExpectationsSuccess in this role will be measured by:Revenue growth within assigned portfolioTimely and accurate renewal processingDocumentation quality and complianceClient satisfaction and relationship strengthWhat Success Looks LikeStrong and stable commercial portfolio with high retentionTrusted advisor relationships with clients and insurer partnersConsistent revenue contribution aligned with brokerage goalsOperational discipline and audit-ready compliancePositive contribution to ABS’s growth and professional reputation#J-18808-Ljbffr
