We are looking for an analytical and passionate Energy Trader to join our Western US Trading team at Capital Power. Your role will involve optimizing energy assets and executing trading strategies in the WECC and CAISO markets. You will also contribute to the development of long-term hedging strategies and collaborate closely with Operations and Finance teams.

Key Responsibilities:
• Optimize trading strategies across short-term and long-term horizons
• Support pricing and evaluation of structured trading deals
• Analyze market intelligence for improved trading decision-making




• Negotiate master agreements with counterparties and brokers
• Ensure compliance with risk management policies

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
• 3+ years experience in physical power trading
• Proven ability to analyze datasets and develop trading models
• Familiarity with trading tools like R and SQL
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
