Together we are working with Nova Scotians to build a better future through sustainable natural resource management as we all benefit from the natural health and wealth of the province.About Our OpportunityAs the Student Park Attendant, you are responsible for assisting with the seasonal operation and maintenance of designated provincial parks.Primary AccountabilitiesInfrastructure maintenance, vehicles, grounds and equipment; Customer service and relations; Monitoring park activities for regulation compliance; Advising visitors of park regulations and reporting non-compliance to Conservation Officers; Using the computer-basedreservation and registration system; Processing financial transactions, cash handling; Compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and Workplace policies, Procedures and all Secure Work Practices at all times when on duty.Qualifications and ExperienceStudent currently in high school (minimum grade 10) or a post‑secondary education program and returning to school in the Fall or next applicable semester; Valid Driver’s License; Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and to work independently; Experience in building and grounds maintenance; ride on mowers, push mowers,



string trimmers and knowledge of cleaning methods and sanitation requirements.AssetsCustomer service training/experience; General knowledge of local history and points of interest; Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations; Experience with internet, email, and web-based applications.Working Conditions70 hours bi‑weekly. Duties often require working irregularly scheduled hours, weekends, evenings and holidays. Must be willing to attend department training in duties related to this position.
