Loblaws is hiring a full-time Asset Protection Representative at 100 McArthur Ave., Ottawa, ON K1L 8H5. This position requires open availability based on store hours, including evenings and weekends.

This is a front-line career in retail security where your vigilance, professionalism, and quick decision-making help create a safe shopping environment while reducing theft and fraud in high-volume grocery and pharmacy settings.

Responsibilities

- Actively prevent theft, fraud, and policy violations by maintaining a visible and skilled presence in-store
- Safely and lawfully detain offenders, following all company and legal procedures
- Conduct detailed internal and external investigations, gather and analyze evidence, and work with law enforcement when required
- Partner with store leadership to identify loss trends and implement effective prevention strategies
- Ensure compliance with company standards, security policies, and provincial regulations
- Monitor CCTV and surveillance tools to detect and respond to suspicious activity
- Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule

Requirements

- Valid Provincial Security Guard Licence




- Understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related legislation
- Experience with CCTV, surveillance tools, and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Approachable, confident, and respectful with exceptional communication skills
- High level of trustworthiness, accountability, and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Available to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends (40 hr. work week)
- Previous experience in grocery, pharmacy, or high-volume retail is an asset
- Must be 18 years or older; criminal background check required
