Job DetailsJob Location: Canada - Toronto - Richmond Hill, ON L4B 3K3Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00We are seeking an experienced SCADA Engineer with a robust background in warehouse and building automation monitoring system design. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and support of SCADA systems used for monitoring and controlling facility operations, including HVAC, lighting, energy, fire safety, and warehouse automation systems such as conveyors, robotics, and material handling equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement SCADA systems for warehouse automation and building management systems (BMS).Develop and configure HMI/SCADA screens and interfaces for real-time monitoring, alarming, and data visualization.Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs, sensors, actuators, and other field devices using industry-standard protocols (e.G., Modbus, BACnet, OPC, MQTT, Ethernet/IP).Collaborate with controls, electrical, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of SCADA with automation hardware and enterprise systems.Develop and maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams, I/O lists, tag databases, and control narratives.Provide support for commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of SCADA systems during deployment and post-installation phases.Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and best practices in system design and operation.Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to improve reliability, efficiency, and user experience.Assist in data analytics, trend analysis, and reporting for building systems and warehouse operations.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and evaluate emerging technologies in SCADA and automation.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation,



Computer Science, or related field.3–7 years of experience in SCADA system design, development, and maintenance.Proven experience with warehouse automation technologies (e.G., WCS/WMS integration, conveyor systems, robotics).Familiarity with building automation systems (HVAC, lighting, energy management, fire alarms, access control).Hands‑on experience with SCADA platforms such as Ignition, Wonderware, GE iFIX, Siemens WinCC, or Schneider EcoStruxure.Proficient in communication protocols like BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA/DA, MQTT.Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, firewalls).Experience with HMI/GUI development tools and scripting (e.G., Python, JavaScript, or proprietary languages).Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in high‑throughput warehouses, fulfillment centers, or automated logistics environments.Data Center SCADA Experience a plus.Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.G., ISA, NFPA, IEC, ASHRAE).Experience with cloud‑based SCADA/IoT platforms and edge computing.Familiarity with database systems (SQL, historian systems) and data analytics tools.Professional certifications in SCADA, automation, or cybersecurity are a plus.BenefitsFlexible work hours to accommodate work‑life balanceHealth, dental, and vision insurance401k matchingBonus eligibilityTuition reimbursement for certain pre‑approved education pursuitsRRC Companies is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment process.
