Personal Injury Legal Assistantfor a boutique law firm in downtown Toronto.Job Type: Permanent Full-Time.Existing Vacancy: Yes.Compensation: From $55,000 to $80,000 per annum according to experience.Regular Work Hours: 7.0 hours per day, not including 1 hour lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (35 work hours per week).Work Location: 100% onsite at Client's Downtown Toronto office, near TTC station.Onsite Dress Code: Corporate, according to Client business requirements.A busy and well-established personal injury law firm in downtown Toronto is seeking an experienced and highly organized Legal Assistant to support a team of 3 lawyers in a rapid-paced practice focused on Accident Benefits and Tort litigation.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a deadline‑driven legal environment, has strong attention to detail, and brings solid experience handling both Accident Benefits and Tort files from intake through litigation support.ResponsibilitiesProvide day‑to‑day legal administrative support to 3 lawyers practicing in personal injury law.Manage Accident Benefits and Tort files from intake through litigation and trial preparation.Draft, prepare, revise, and organize legal correspondence, pleadings, productions, mediation materials, and court documents.Maintain physical and electronic file records with accuracy and organization.Coordinate calendars, appointments, discoveries, mediations, IMEs, and client meetings using Calendly and internal systems.Conduct extensive dictation/transcription with strong speed and accuracy.Communicate professionally with clients, insurers, medical offices, opposing counsel, and experts.Prepare and manage filing deadlines in accordance with the Rules of Civil Procedure.Monitor court deadlines, limitation periods, and filing requirements.Prepare pleadings, affidavits, productions, motion materials,



and other litigation documents.Utilize PC Law for file management, billing, and related administrative tasks.Assist with scheduling, follow‑ups, and general practice coordination.Additional personal injury legal assistant responsibilities as required.QualificationsEducation: Diploma in Legal Administration or related field, or applicable combination of work experience and education.Preferred Work Experience: At least 5–10+ years of experience supporting a personal injury (AB and Tort) practice.Preferred Sector Experience: Law Firm experience required.Technical and Language Skills Requirements:Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (will be tested).Fast and accurate typing skills and attention to detail (will be tested).Proficiency in PC Law, WordPerfect and Calendly (preferred).Sound knowledge of legal terminology (may be tested).Experienced in managing and organizing physical paper files in addition to digital records.Solid dictation transcription skill is required.Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong business writing skills and excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading and syntax.Task-Based Qualifications and Additional AttributesStrong working knowledge of both Accident Benefits and Tort procedures,



with a clear understanding of the differences between Accident Benefits claims and Tort litigation.Experience supporting lawyers in a high‑volume practice environment.Strong knowledge of Ontario legal procedures and documentation requirements.Experience with LAT matters and mediation preparation.Familiarity with insurer correspondence and medical documentation.Punctual, responsible, and reliable. Demonstrated record of professional conduct and character.Focused and able to work effectively with minimal direction and supervision, to prioritize tasks effectively, and to manage volume targets and due dates.Pleasant and courteous. Demonstrated commitment to client service and professional representation of the organization.Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgment in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy.Superior attention to detail and an organized, methodical approach to completion of tasks.Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, and in an advisory capacity, and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Additional RequirementsMust be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.Ability to work both remotely and onsite, abiding by the organization's health and safety policies.Ability to promptly provide a minimum of 2 recent, qualified employment references at the point of client interview who are available to speak with either Marberg or Marberg's client.Ability to declare personal Non‑Conflict of Interest in execution of position responsibilities.Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, Interpersonal Skills Assessment, and Employment References as required.Marberg is committed to supporting workplace diversity and inclusivity, to reflect the demographic profile of all Ontarians.
