The City of Warman is seeking to fill the full-time position of Parks and Recreation Labourer Level I in the Parks Department. Reporting directly to the Parks Supervisor, the Parks and Recreation Labourer I is responsible for all daily operations and maintenance of the City of Warmans recreation facilities, parks, playgrounds and green space.
Requirements: Possession of a valid Class 5 drivers license with a clean drivers abstract.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the following certificates: Arena Operators Level 1; Parks and Sports Field Operators Level 1; First Aid Certificate; CPR and AED Certificate; Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and any additional certifications as required by the City.
Proficiency in operating at least 2 pieces of the following types of equipment, with a minimum of 250 operating hours: Ice resurfacer (Zamboni)
Commercial mower




Areal lift

Experience with a skid steer is considered an asset.
Familiarity with artificial ice making, resurfacing techniques, turf management, grass care and basic horticultural practices is considered beneficial.
Must successfully pass a police criminal record check to confirm suitability for working with and around children and youth.
General knowledge of building and grounds maintenance, including custodial duties also preferred.
Expected to abide and carry out the policies and direction set forth by the City of Warman.
Willingness and ability to work various shifts including evenings and weekends is essential.

Wage: $23.52 - $26.95 per hour.
