About Our Team:The People Team at OpenTable focuses on building simple, scalable, and globally consistent People Operations. Our goal is to ensure strong HR fundamentals while continuously improving processes, systems, and employee experience across markets.This role plays a key part in maintaining operational stability while supporting the delivery of defined People Operations initiatives throughout 2026.The Position:OpenTable is seeking a Manager, HR Operations for a 12-month maternity leave cover. This role combines hands-on operational leadership with ownership of high-impact people operations projects. The position oversees global day-to-day people operations, leads the Global People Operations Services team, drives improvements across systems, processes, and policies, and acts as a central liaison across key internal partners and external vendors. The role works closely with the Senior Director, People Operations, through regular collaboration and alignment.In this role, you will:Own the day-to-day execution of People Operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, job changes, offboarding, documentation, and data maintenanceEnsure People Ops processes are followed consistently across all markets, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and employee experienceAct as an escalation point for complex or non-standard cases, applying root-cause analysis and looping in the Senior Director, People Operations when neededSupport the Global People Operations Services team by answering tickets and resolving employee and contractor inquiries through ZendeskBe the main point of contact for our EOR Partner(s) and ensure all contracts and invoices are processed smoothlyMaintain service levels and operational hygiene during the coverage periodDrive delivery of assigned People Operations projects through structured planning, coordination, and executionPartner cross-functionally with People Partners, People Systems, Payroll, IT, Legal, TA, and external vendors to move work forwardMaintain explicit project timelines, dependencies,
and status updatesEnsure progress continues even when priorities shift, escalating risks and blockers earlyPlanned initiatives may include:Onboarding process and systems improvementsZendesk reporting, metrics, and intake optimizationWorkday document management and self-service enhancementsEmployee handbook, policy, and benefits reviews by marketTermination and severance process centralizationBackground check framework updates across marketsRTO process and compliance supportPeople Operations analytics and dashboardsCross-system alignment (Workday, Zendesk, Freshservice, DocuSign, Greenhouse)Partner with HR Systems and IT teams to maintain and improve Workday, Zendesk, and related toolsPerform regular audits of employee and HR transaction data to ensure accuracy and consistencyIdentify opportunities for automation, standardization, and improved self-serviceOwn and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and People Ops knowledge base contentWork closely with the Senior Director, People Operations, providing regular updates on operational health, project progress, risks, and decision pointsProactively escalate issues or decisions that require additional context or support rather than operating in isolationServe as a reliable point of contact for People Partners and cross-functional stakeholdersMaintain clear documentation of processes, decisions, and project status throughout the contractEnsure a structured and thorough handover at the end of the maternity leave cover, including documentation, open items, risks,
and recommendations to support a smooth transition when the role holder returnsPlease apply if:3-5 years of experience in leading People Operations / HR OperationsHands-on experience using Workday as an end userExperience supporting North American populationExperience working with HR ticketing systems (e.G., Zendesk)Strong organizational and execution skillsComfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and follow-throughAble to work independently while knowing when to escalateNice to have:Experience supporting global or multi-market employee populationsExposure to shared services models or HR process standardizationExperience working with external vendors (EOR, background checks, immigration providers)There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required.
