Position Details Position: Full‑Time Security Guard Site: North York General Hospital Leslie Overtime: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours Hours: Continental Rotation – 0700‑1900 / 1900‑0700 Payrate: $20.43 / hour Posting Date: January 25, 2026 Internal Closing Date: January 30, 2026 External Closing Date: February 13, 2026 Key Responsibilities Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, and entrances, to ensure safety and security. Operate security cameras and alarm systems, reporting any suspicious activity immediately to the appropriate authorities. Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring only authorized individuals gain access to restricted areas. Respond quickly to emergency situations such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats, assisting staff as needed during crises and evacuations. Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff, providing directions and ensuring guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures. De‑escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and handle all interactions calmly and professionally. Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately and complete incident reports. Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort. Ensure hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed and address any violations in a manner that upholds safety standards. Prerequisites Valid Security License for the province of Ontario. Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB‑approved vendor).



COVID Vaccine – two doses. Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two‑step TB skin test. Valid G‑class Driver License. English (oral and written) fluency is a must. Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred. Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB). Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UOF/MAB certification program prior to onboarding training to meet position requirements.
