As a Winter Highway Maintenance Worker, you’ll work full-time on seasonal tasks crucial for maintaining safe travel. This position involves outdoor manual labor under cold conditions, operating plow and sanding trucks, and supporting road maintenance with a dedicated team. Being proactive and safety-focused is essential as you tackle various maintenance responsibilities during winter operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clear obstructed drainage systems and maintain roadside vegetation
• Safely remove snow and ice with plow and sanding equipment
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Change snowplow blades as needed
• Perform routine maintenance on plow trucks and equipment
Requirements:
• Valid Canadian driver's license, Class 3 with Air Brake endorsement
• Previous experience in snowplowing and equipment operation
• Comfortable working outdoors in challenging weather
• Effective communication skills with peers and supervisors
• Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification (asset)
